As the Programme Manager for the Learning Loss Project, you will be pivotal in driving positive change in education. We are searching for a high-calibre team member with the capacity for meticulous planning, efficient execution, detailed monitoring and evaluation, and the potential to lead. This role requires a strong emphasis on empathy, grit, proactive problem-solving and a visionary mindset. Extensive travel to rural and interior schools in Sarawak is an integral part of this role.
In essence, we are looking for a Programme Manager who will be able to:
Commit for a minimum of 1 year
Foster and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including individuals, local communities, , and partners (corporates, schools, parents, universities, and SMEs) nationwide
Strategise, manage, coordinate, execute, monitor and evaluate our education programmes nationwide
Work closely with school leaders, teachers and students to cultivate a culture of innovation and learning within our educational initiatives
Strive for excellence in driving and meeting key programme deliverables
What to expect?
The work generally involves a lot of communication with various stakeholders & beneficiaries.
Much of the working day is spent in casual settings but do dress accordingly. Meetings with (potential) sponsors & high-ranking officers (from both corporate & government) may require a smart dress code.
The work often requires sensitivity, creativity, passion and determination to overcome barriers and to engage beneficiaries & stakeholders. Be prepared for setbacks before success is achieved.
Extensive travel to ‘Pedalaman schools’ in Northern Sarawak. We prefer someone who is based in Miri, Sarawak with the possibility of remote work
Who are we looking for?
Young professional, with some experience in project management
Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team
Previous experience in the field of education (preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills particularly in English and Bahasa Melayu
Strong research and investigative skills
Proficient in Google Apps
A fast learner with a self-driven, "can-do" attitude
Working Hours
Typical working hours range from 37 to 45 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. Some programs may require weekend work.
