Position Summary:

Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient production processes within a food manufacturing facility. They are responsible for leading production teams, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, optimizing productivity, and maintaining a smooth workflow to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise production staff, including machine operators, packers, and line workers.
  2. Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production schedules and priorities.
  3. Monitor production lines to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  4. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Implement and enforce quality control measures to uphold product quality standards.
  6. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, raw materials, and finished products.
  7. Lead initiatives to improve production processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  8. Address any deviations from quality standards promptly and implement corrective actions.
  9. Collaborate with the production planning team to develop production schedules and resource allocation plans.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure seamless production processes and implement best practices and innovative solutions.
  11. Generate reports on production KPIs and performance trends for management review.
  12. Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization to enhance overall efficiency.
  13. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement within the production team.
  14. Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Candidates must possess at least Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  2. Previous experience in a supervisory role within the food manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of food production processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  4. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  5. Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of safety and quality.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
  9. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA regulations).
