The Job
- Prepare, compile & analyze financial information to generate financial statements including monthly and annual accounts on a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with established accepted standards, policies & procedures
- Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Prepare financial management reports
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing processes are done accurately
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities speedily
- Implement a budgetary & control processes including guiding all business unit heads how in developing a sound and accurate operating budget and budget for capital expenditure
- Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
- Ensure that all financial transactions adhere to Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri requirements
- Implement prudent and effective tax planning
- Develop, maintain and secure financial databases with proper regular and effective data back-up in different locations
- Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the audit processes
- Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
- Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
- Implement continuous improvement processes to increase efficiencies, productivities and accuracies. This may include identifying, evaluating, selecting and implementing of a suitable integrated business systems.
- Responsible to recruit, train, develop, supervise, appraise and terminate sub-ordinates with direct reporting line
The Person
- Accounting degree or equivalent. CPA or Malaysian Institute of CPA and equivalent would be an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice
- Working knowledge in the following areas:
- generally accepted accounting practices and principles
- economic principles
- auditing practices and principles
- applicable laws, codes and regulations
- accounting software (preferably having working experience in using ERP software – Enterprise Resource Planning)
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in the sales and servicing of vehicles (automotive industry – 3S center)
