about the job

• Hands-on experience and deep knowledge of Malaysia's Grid Code, Bulk Supply Interconnection Standards, Metering standards, and Substation Design Standards.
• Design expertise in HT & MV Substation layout planning, Interconnection with Overhead Transmission Pylon, HT Cable path planning, Power Transformer design, Earthing Transformer, AIS and GIS HT switchgears, Double busbar design, Busbar Differential Protection, Distance Protection, Transformer Biased Differential Protection, Fault analysis calculation, and Underground cable temperature rise simulation.
• Extensive use of international design standards like IEC 61850, IEC 60076, IEC 62271, and IEC 61439.
• Ensure designs are concurrently maintainable, achieve five nines availability, meet fault grading and arc flash protection requirements, and are sized for worst-case power demand.
• Thorough understanding of Renewable Energy Policy and regulatory frameworks in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, including Demand Side Management, Interruptible Load Programmes, Energy Storage Systems, Micro-Grid, Combined Cycle Power Plant, and Cogeneration.

• Demonstrated design expertise in the APAC region.
• Electrical Professional Engineer with a valid practicing certificate.
• Over 10 years of experience in design consultancy.
• Proficiency in electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, Neher McGrath, load calculation, lightning protection, earthing, electrical system protection, electrical power monitoring system, and building management system.
• Preferably experienced in hyper-scale data centers, microelectronics, or other critical infrastructure.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, Etarp, SKM, CYME tools for design and drafting.
• Willingness to travel for overseeing substation construction.
• Open to relocation as per project requirements.
