Our client is a mid-size construction company based in Shah Alam, Selangor.

About The Job

• Oversee an accounting team on the preparation of periodic financial statements for statutory reporting, and management reporting.
• Analyse and review the financial performance comparing actual results against the budget and the prior year.
• Lead the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the business, incorporating key business and economic drivers.
• Review project performance i.e., project delays, liquidated damages, cost overruns, foreseeable losses, recoveries, margin deterioration and improvements.
• Review clients’ and sub-contractors’ financial standings for their ability to undertake contractual obligations, which include timely payments, performance bond issuance, and cost overruns arising from delay.
• Liaise and negotiate with financial Institutions to raise working capital funds and Bankers’ Guarantees for performance bonds, including reviewing financing terms and conditions for risk and obligations.
• Manage and forecast project cash flow requirements to ensure sufficiency, expedite collection, manage payment and initiate capital calls.
• Review and identify control weaknesses in work processes, initiate and implement new controls and ensure controls are strictly adhered to.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities and other government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in any ad hoc projects assigned, including system set-up, climate and sustainability reporting, M&A and due diligence

About The Manager/team

Reporting to the CFO, you will work closely with the accounting and project operations team.

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Finance/Accounting. ACCA/CPA is an added advantage.
• Local Malaysian with a minimum of 15 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the construction industry, partnering with the leadership and project team.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
