Description

PURPOSE
1. Under the general guidance and supervision of Executive Assistant Manager, Sales Manager is to be responsible for establishing, maintaining and servicing the assigned accounts or portfolio.
2. To ensure the achievement of monthly and yearly sales target of the assigned sectors.
3. To ensure the assigned sectors achieve the sales budget with higher yield.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Participates and contributes to the development of the sales activities plan, budget and marketing audits for the hotel and establish solicitation programs to maximize sales in particular for the assigned sectors.
2. Identifies sources of business and provide the sales elements of developing relationships with them.
3. Maintains updated sectors information in all files and departmental records and ensures an effective reporting system for flow of information.
4. Establishes assigned accounts qualification criteria and uses market research and telemarketing resources to identify priority markets and accounts; conducts sales calls to ensure coverage of all major markets.
5. Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone and written communications.
6. Provides feedback to Department Head on changing market conditions, including trends in the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone and direct mail.
7. Establishes programs and direct efforts to achieve group and FIT room night goals for the assigned sectors as well as banquet sales targets, and to develop good rapport and relationships with clients.
8. Monitors sector’s sales production and activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve planned goals.
9. Participates in all sales activities, promotions, Hotel’s special events, trade fairs, exhibitions organized by the Hotel or external parties.
10. Conducts outstation trips to assigned regions as per outstation sales plans.
11. Prepares and submit periodic reports as required for the Management’s information and review.
12. Arranges familiarization and/or site inspection trips to Hotel by major clients.
13. Participates in weekly Sales and Marketing meeting.
14. Provides guidance and training to junior level staff related to their duties in the Sales & Marketing department.
15. Undertakes any assignments given from time to time by the Department Head or other senior management.
16. To be responsible for daily sales activities in the assigned accounts and/or portfolio, areas and team members.
17. To develop and maintain proper and adequate files reflecting information on the assigned accounts and/or portfolio.
18. To prepare and compile the ‘Weekly Sales Performance Report’ and ‘Monthly Sales Report’ of the assigned sectors for the Department Head.
19. To ensure response promptly [within 24 hours] to all correspondence and enquiries from customers and prospects.
20. To handle complaints and unsatisfactory guests tactfully on behalf of the management.
21. Accountable for the sales budget achievement of the assigned accounts or sectors.
22. Maintaining good business rapport and contact with the industry professionals and clients through sales calls, telephone contacts and written communications.
23. Meeting influential clients while they are in the hotel and ensures that post-event evaluations are conducted.
24. Coordination of sales activities or secured group function on operation matters with other departments.
25. Coordination of sales trips and rendered assistance in special projects with other departments to maximize selling opportunities.
26. To maintain an effective internal communication network and employee relations within the sector, department, and other departments, local and oversea sales offices in Singapore.
27. Preparation of sector’s monthly report and other reports as required for the Management’s information.
28. Ensure to facilitate immediate actions taken on all sales leads and outstanding matters from other departments and traced for response.
